The lamp technique already in use in the Renaissance in Venice consists in modeling the glass, already semi-finished in the form of rods called canes .

The canes are melted and consequently worked, under a horizontal flame powered by methane gas and oxygen: the torch .

The glass softened by heat is modeled with special tools to become a more or less complex object.
